Who We Are Seeking

We are seeking a motivated, qualified individual to join our company as a Supply Chain Specialist. As part of our operations and logistics department, you ensure the smooth functioning of all aspects of our supply chain including materials sourcing, procurement, processing, order fulfillment and delivery. 

An efficient, cost effective supply chain is the backbone of our successful operations. You use your expertise in inventory and logistics management, demand forecasting, procurement and international shipping to continuously improve supply processes, reduce costs, create contingency plans in case of disruption, and provide up-to-date and accurate reporting regarding our present condition and capabilities. 

Your mission will be to train and supervise your internal support team, and to work closely with suppliers and Natural Pod sales and design departments to ensure that quality products and services are delivered to our valued customers on time and on budget. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage product demand by completing daily inventory updates, timely resupply plans, update inventory rundown with forecasted sales and lifting schedule for resupply.
  • Work with various stakeholders to maximize supply chain value and storage utilization to prevent supply disruption in periods of sales variances.
  • Administer demand planning assessed plan vs. actual plan. Adjust as needed with a focus on minimizing costs.
  • Keep both internal and external stakeholders informed of any plan adjustments.
  • Lead daily communication meetings with your direct reports to review deal movement plans, assess any potential for delays or disruptions, and provide direction on mitigation plans as applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with sales, design and customer service stakeholders to understand customer requirements and how these requirements affect the Demand Plan.
  • Provide regular and on-demand status reports to your supervisor.
  • Lead calls with key stakeholders when any supply chain concerns surface, e.g. an off-spec product, or a manufacturing delay.
  • Drive continuous improvement of demand accuracy by effectively analyzing data.
  • Anticipate demand variances and recommend appropriate action plans to minimize the impact of such variances on the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with sales, design and finance teams to resolve gaps between Demand Plan and Actual Demand.
  • Manage vendor relationships and accounts payable.
  • Special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, logistics, or supply chain. A suitable combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with complex logistics planning, sourcing, vendor relationship management, demand planning, and team training and supervision
  • Strong proficiency with CRM, Inventory Management and Financial reporting software and spreadsheets
  • Vendor relations and accounts payable experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

  • Location: Vancouver/Burnaby Area 
  • Job Type: Full time, permanent employee 
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9-5 pm 
  • Compensation: Commensurate with experience
  • Benefits: Extended health and dental benefits 
  • Expected start date: ASAP in January
  • Candidate must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
