Voyagers’ Community School was already a very intentional and inspiring learning environment to be part of. In light of the pandemic they have been working hard to adapt their learning environments to meet physical distancing needs while still being the healthy, creative spaces needed for their students to thrive.
They have shared with us some new photos of their freshly adapted ‘learning studios’. We are so pleased to see how their flexible Natural Pod furniture has allowed Voyagers’ to successfully adapt their spaces to a new style of learning – ‘Our newly established learning studios provide physical distance between children, proximity to windows that can be opened to circulate fresh air, and have been outfitted with technology and tools that support the children in the classroom and give access to vibrant learning, while keeping us all connected.’
Voyagers’ Community School is in Eatontown, New Jersey. They serve children, ages 1-18, in daycare, infant care, preschool, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, and high school.
“Voyagers’ Community School offers a close-knit community, where children are well known and well cared for. Our holistic viewpoint leads us to hear and support our students’ learning through an emergent, project-based curriculum that is responsive to their interests while providing all traditional subject matter. We stand apart from those schools focused on ranking and categorizing children according to test scores. We define education in terms of process, engagement and an interest in digging deeper for answers. We measure success in terms of intellectual rather than academic development.” – Karen Giuffre’ – Founding Director
