Over the last few months we’ve been asking educators and administrators what they need in place to create a safe, physically distanced learning space that also provides an engaging environment that their students are inspired by and want to be in. These conversations have resulted in collaborations with our design team to create new products to meet differing needs, as well as supporting educators to utilize the furniture they already have to adapt their spaces to navigate physical distancing requirements.
What is apparent is the core components of our sustainability made tables and benches are still the most in-demand items even during the pandemic. The feedback we’ve had is because, in addition to our products being naturally healthy (no nasty toxic glues, finishings or VOC’s) and environmentally responsibly made, their innate flexible design has proven to be very effective at continuing to create beautiful, inviting learning spaces that also lend themselves to physical distancing. This has been particularly true of our 4×4 table that allows students to sit far enough apart, one on each side facing each other, while still providing connection and the opportunity for collaboration.
The matching benches have also stayed in demand due to their adaptability and multi-use functionality. Our benches tend to offer more versatility than chairs because they can be easily moved by students themselves, be used as shelving, and create room delineation when needed. Their streamlined design also helps learning spaces to look less cluttered and calmer than multiple chairs.

Tables: Our exclusively designed Natural Pod square tables and benches are our core components for creating beautiful and collaborative learning environments, lending themselves to both the present physical distancing requirements and more collaborative learning styles once restrictions are eased. The table designs are all based on flowing curves that are not only beautiful but allow them to interlock with other adjoining tables creating longer or wider work areas.
