Natural Pod is a Certified B Corporation

At Natural Pod, B Corp Certification is not an achievement we display — it is a standard we hold ourselves to, every day. It reflects our founding belief that business can and should be a force for good: for the students and educators we serve, for the communities we work within, and for the planet we share.
B Corp certification is rigorous by design. To earn it, a company must meet high standards of verified social and environmental performance, make a legal commitment to accountability beyond shareholders, and operate with full transparency. When we earned our first certification in 2024, we scored 92.9 on the B Impact Assessment — nearly double the median score of 50.9 for ordinary businesses. That result gave us a clear picture of where we stood across Governance, Customers, Workers, Environment, and Community — and an honest roadmap for where we needed to go.
In 2026, we achieved recertification with a score of 107.4. That leap reflects the work our team has done to deepen our environmental stewardship, strengthen our policies, and build partnerships with organizations that share our purpose. We are proud of that progress, and we know there is more to do.
As a British Columbia Benefit Corporation, our commitment to people and planet is not aspirational — it is written into our legal structure. It shapes how we source materials, how we treat our team, how we design our educational furniture, and how we show up for the learning communities we are privileged to support.
“Our B Corp recertification and this year’s Impact Report are not milestones to us. Rather, they are tangible proof that business can and should be a force for good. When we choose durable, ethically made educational furniture, we aren’t only outfitting a learning space — we’re modelling the values of stewardship and long-term thinking for the next generation.” – Bridgitte Alomes |CEO + Founder | Natural Pod
This is our starting point, not our stopping point.

What does B Corp Certification mean to you as an educator and learning provider?

B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials. In order to achieve certification, a company must:
- Demonstrate high social and environmental performance by achieving a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or above and passing our risk review. Multinational corporations must also meet baseline requirement standards.
- Make a legal commitment by changing their corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders, and achieve benefit corporation status if available in their jurisdiction.
- Exhibit transparency by allowing information about their performance measured against B Lab’s standards to be publicly available on their B Corp profile on B Lab’s website.
