The Green Schools National Network is excited to announce that it is partnering with the Center for Green Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council to co-present the “Best of Green Schools 2016”!  The Best of Green Schools recognizes the people, schools, campuses, and organizations making a big difference in creating healthy, efficient learning environments for our students.

2015 was another fantastic year for the green schools movement. We have a lot to celebrate, and if not for the outstanding efforts of thousands of leaders and volunteers across the world, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

Through extensive planning, experimentation, careful investments in infrastructure and technology, and collaboration with community members and policy makers, schools all over the world are becoming healthier, greener places to learn, work, and play.

Best of Green Schools is here to celebrate the work that you or someone in your community is doing to push the green schools movement forward. Last year’s honorees included schools with innovative and curriculum-integrated activities that represent the best that 21st century learning has to offer, policy makers who’ve made green schools part of their platform and legacy, and organizations that take local collaboration to the next level, truly embodying the intersection of people, planet, and prosperity.

If you or someone you know is making significant strides toward creating more sustainable schools, we want to hear from you! You are welcome to submit nominations for yourself and others.  The call for nominations closes on February 26, 2016.

Winners will be announced and awarded at the 2016 Green Schools Conference and Expo, being held March 31 – April 1 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
